Very well maintained trail worth getting on if you are in the area. It is usually somewhat crowded as volcano is a major tourist attraction. Full review by WanderingTurk

Unique place to visit, highly recommend the Kilauea Iki trail which takes you across the Kilauea Iki Crater floor. Not an easy walk (steep descent and climb with lots of stairs etc) but amazing views. Full review by WJL5

I did this trail twice while visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and it was one of my highlights of the trip. The first time I went solo and started a little before 6:30 am. This was a great time… Full review by GoVols79
We would like to do this trail but have an infant. How steep is the hike down? Would it be safe to go down carrying our infant in a carrier? We have done several hikes carrying our baby but are wondering how steep/safe this one is. Thank you!

If you decide it is too steep you can still get good views along the top trail and it’s basically across the street from Thurston Lava Tube!
Hi, is the Kilauea Iki Trail open since the volcano's eruption? Thanks!

I think the National Park itself has literally only just re-opened, but as to which trails I don't really know sorry. Their website may tell you more but it's hard to tell from their map...the Iki …

Which is the best trail / most scenic to take in. OK with moderately tough hikes

Check in with the ranger at registration. They gave us a lot of great information and the challenges/lengths of each hike. We did the 5 mile loop through the crater and it was a great hike.
