All Hike Table Mountain guides are registered with the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, and hold accredited qualifications in mountaineering and first-aid. Table Mountain is our office as well as playground. With over 100 years’ Table Mountain hiking and climbing experience between us, we’ve seen the mountain in all its moods and facets. We know its nuances and are intimately acquainted with its terrain. Complementing our experience of the mountain is our experience in dealing with people on the mountain combined with our enthusiasm for sharing the mountain with others. Our defining qualities as Mountain Guides include passion, enthusiasm, attentiveness, competence, a sense of humor, courtesy and friendliness.

We did Skeleton Gorge starting at Kirstenbosch Gardens and took the Cable Car down because my husband read it is one of the 10 best hikes in the world! It took us about 5 hours to the Cable Station at the top. We are two fit mid 50s and we did move at a good pace but also took a few stops for pictures and break. This route is quite stenuous as you are up vertical a good bit. I recommend you reaching out to the guides via email (hiketablemountain). They will be very helpful providing info and helping you decide which trek to do. Such a great feeling when you reach the top!
My travel agency informed me that Table Mountain will be closed when we are in Capetown in early August. Is the cable tram closed or is the entire mountain closed then?
