If you have a badge there is a disabled car park for 10 cars, see English Heritage website it wouldn't let me post a link. We parked in the free car park but it is quite a steep walk, …

You could walk right up to the gates and take photos and also walk part of the perimeter. There is no accommodation within the Castle or Priory grounds.

Yes, you can go up to where the entry is and get some fabulous photos, also, where the parking areas are allow for some great shots!
