Dozens of flood alerts are in effect across England and Wales and new warnings for rain have been issued following snowfall across the UK. The Met Office has warned we could be in for a ‘rapid thaw’ after vast amounts of snow fell over the weekend,

An amber cold weather alert has been extended into the weekend as temperatures remain low across the region - with a warning of possible snow in Hampshire tomorrow (Wednesday, January 8).

A RARE amber weather alert for snow has been issued by the Met Office as Brits are warned of travel chaos. The warning was issued from 9pm on Saturday and has now been extended to 6am on Monday

A FRESH – more severe – weather warning has been issued across the region as residents are told to expect snow, ice and ‘freezing rain’. Having issued yellow weather warnings for snow and ice yesterday, Thursday, the Met Office has now upgraded these to amber.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for North Wales due to snow and ice which will be in place on Monday and Tuesday (January 6 and 7).

More snow is heading to Oxfordshire after the Met Office issued another yellow weather warning. The county already experienced snow and freezing rain over the weekend after the Met Office had given both amber and yellow weather warnings.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across parts of Devon and Cornwall. The first warning for snow and ice begins at 17:00 GMT and ends at 10:00 GMT on Tuesday. A second warning for snow across both counties then takes effect from 09:00 on Wednesday to 23:59 the same day.
