Chris Buescher won the NASCAR Cup race at Watkins Glen, passing Shane Van Gisbergen on a thrilling final lap, as playoff drivers struggled.

Pole sitter Ross Chastain dominated much of the race, but pit strategy reshuffled the leaders in the final stage. A series of cautions, including wrecks involving William Byron, Kyle Busch, and Tyler Reddick, set up a tense overtime finish. Buescher regained the lead after bumping Van Gisbergen in the carousel, holding off a final charge.
