Nearly a week after deadly floods struck Central Texas, search and rescue teams are continuing to probe debris for those still missing.

At least 120 people have been found dead since heavy rainfall overwhelmed the river and flowed through homes and youth camps in the early morning hours of July 4. Ninety-six of those killed were in the hardest-hit county in central Texas, Kerr County, where the toll includes at least 36 children.

Texas police described some of the harrowing rescues they conducted after flash floods engulfed camps and homes in the state's Hill Country.

Josephine Hardin and her mother were in Texas with family for the July 4 holiday when they were swept away in the floods.

Eddie, a 69-year-old from Mobile, was staying at a riverside cabin in Kerrville when he was swept away along with his wife, Ileana Santana, 6-year-old granddaughter, Mila Rose Santana, and Mila’s parents, Camille Santana and Eddie Santana Jr.

A memorial service was held in Kerr County, Texas on Friday to honor the victims and those still missing from flooding that recently struck the region.

Dallas-area couple Jeff and Tanya Ramsey helped warn family members of incoming floods moments before they were swept away. Jeff remains missing.
