Gaza's civil defence agency on Tuesday said that 29 people were killed in Israeli strikes across the Palestinian territory devastated by 21 months of war.

The Israeli military says five soldiers were killed in an attack in northern Gaza, while health officials in the Palestinian territory say 18 people were killed in Israeli strikes.

The Israeli army escalated airstrikes in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, killing at least 27 more Palestinians, medics said. Four Palestinians, including an infant, were killed when an Israeli aircraft struck a house in Tel al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, Al-Shifa Hospital said.
