Kansas basketball routed UCF on Sunday for a Big 12 Conference win. Here’s more on what was motivating the Jayhawks ahead of this matchup.

The Knights are coming off one of the worst losses in program history but have little time to wallow as they host Colorado on Wednesday.

Luckily for the Jayhawks, however, UCF doesn’t match up well with KU. By most metrics, the Knights’ offense is pretty mediocre. On top of that, UCF struggles to rebound the ball and turns it over a lot.

The Kansas Jayhawks lost their first conference opener since the 1990s on New Year's Eve, and they take to the road to try and wash off the memory of that game. Unfortunately for them, the location is Orlando, where the Jayhawks suffered a huge upset in the first season that the UCF Knights were in the Big 12.

The transfer guards were also the story of the second half. Griffin went 4-4 from deep on his way to 14 points and four rebounds. Storr had one of his best games as a Jayhawk with 11 points, three boards, and two assists. And Moore had six points and six assists in his first start.

Kansas basketball bounced back from losing its Big 12 opener with a historic 99-48 beatdown of UCF. KU head coach Bill Self credited his team's improved intensity after the win, sending a message of continued urgency to the Jayhawks.
