Sportswear powerhouse PUMA, who has a division dedicated to golf within its ranks called PUMA GOLF, is challenging the leaping tiger logo of Tiger Woods ‘s nascent label Sun Day Red. The Germany company claims that the mark is too similar to its own patented Leaping Cat logo and could lead to confusion among customers.

While Tiger Woods' Sun Day Red golf label is nearly a year-old, it's logos may need to change if Puma has anything to say about it. According to a Jan. 2 filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office,

The German sneaker and apparel company says the Sun Day Red logo is too similar to the logo that Puma has been using since 1969.

For the second time, Tiger Woods' Sun Day Red brand mark has been challenged by a company using a somewhat similar leaping-cat logo. This time, it's German-owned apparel brand Puma that filed a notice of opposition.
