Ring is teaming up with Kidde on a collection of Smart Smoke and Combination Alarms (Smoke + CO) alongside a new optional 24/7 Smoke & CO Monitoring service.

Amazon announced a partnership with Kidde at CES 2025 on Monday that brings its Ring technology to the home safety stalwart’s smoke alarms. There will be multiple versions of the hybrid smoke and CO2 detectors,

Ring is branching out beyond the best video doorbells and home security cameras into another area of home safety: Fire prevention. The company announced that it's partnering with Kidde to launch a new smart smoke detector that will alert Ring customers in the event of a fire or smoke event in their home.

Ring, the Amazon-owned video doorbell and home security company, is branching out into smoke and carbon monoxide detection through a partnership with fire-safety company Kidde.

Ring x Kidde Smart Smoke Alarm is priced at $54.97. Smart Smoke and CO Alarm will cost $74.97. Both will be available in April 2025.

While smoke and fire are always top-of-the-list for a smoke detector’s priorities, the best smart smoke detectors can detect many hazards, including carbon monoxide, natural gas, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), and radon. Some of the most advanced models can even monitor for fluctuations in temperature, humidity, and air quality.

That way, should the whiff of smoke (or, if you buy a combination alarm, smoke and carbon monoxide) wafts through your home, you’ll get a ping on the Ring app. You’ll also, and this is perhaps the most desirable feature of the package, get a warning seven days before your battery runs out, letting you avoid the dreaded alarm chirps.

Kidde and Ring will launch two models in April, along with a $5-per-month smoke monitoring subscription service.
