The 49ers are “expected” to offer their open defensive coordinator job to Saleh, according to Josina Anderson, a position he held with the franchise before becoming head coach of the Jets. First, however, Saleh will meet with the Jaguars and Raiders next week about their head coaching vacancies.

Whether it was an overbearing owner, a general manager struggling to bring in the right players, or a quarterback demanding things be done his way, there were a lot of issues Saleh had to deal with.

Saleh, the former Jets coach, is scheduled to interview with the Jaguars and Raiders for their head coaching vacancies. He met with the 49ers on Thursday for their defensive coordinator position. Saleh held that job for four years before the Jets hired him as head coach in 2021.
