The Hurst Fire in Sylmar "has rapidly expanded" to 850 acres Wednesday evening, forcing the evacuation of more than 3,000 residents, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.  The blaze was first reported at around 10:10 p.

Within 15 minutes the blaze exploded to more than 100 acres, jumped the 210 Freeway and began to spread in the Angeles National Forest.
