The 32-team field for the 2025 WBIT was announced Sunday, March 16. Virginia Tech, James Madison, Saint Joseph’s and Colorado received an automatic bid and the top four seeds in the WBIT as the first four teams out of the 2025 NCAA DI women's basketball tournament.

Last year, there were only four brackets that remained perfect after the first two rounds of the women’s tournament.
