Disney World’s Frontierland is getting a Rocky Mountain makeover with Piston Peak, as Rivers of America shuts down.

It's time to say bon voyage to one of Disney World's classic attractions. Rivers of America, including the Liberty Square Riverboat and nearby Tom Sawyer Island, will be closed starting on July 7 as Disney prepares to transform the area into a new Cars -themed land.

Walt Disney World is closing several iconic attractions beginning Monday to make room for a brand-new land. Frontierland's Rivers of America, Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat at Magic Kingdom will shut down on July 7 as Disney prepares to bring a national park-themed area called Piston Peak to life.
