Joey King is recovering after a grisly kitchen accident. The A Family Affair star, 25, revealed she had suffered numerous facial burns due to a hot oil splatter in a Tuesday, Jan. 28 Instagram Story,

While using a small razor to dermaplane her face, the star said she's been struggling with perioral dermatitis for the last seven months. The skin condition, also known as POD, causes small red bumps to form around the eyes, nose or mouth, according to the American Academy of Dermatology Association .

Joey King's latest attempt to cook a meal took a turn for the worst when she decided to throw vegetables into a pan of hot oil. Photos obtained by Entertainment Weekly show the star covered in burns from her mouth to her collarbone as a result of the oil striking her face.
