Country-rap star Colt Ford is returning to touring months after suffering a heart attack in April 2024, he announced Tuesday in a video posted to Instagram.

Ford had a heart attack last April after he performed at Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row venue in Gilbert, Arizona, PEOPLE reported. The 54-year-old was taken to the Banner Desert Medical Center’s intensive care unit in Mesa, Arizona.

Ford, whose real name is Jason Farris Brown, is a former professional golfer. He has released eight studio albums with his first coming in 2008, and his most recent, “Must Be Country,” released in 2023.
