C.J. Stroud 's dream of winning the Super Bowl will be on hold for at least one more year after the Houston Texans lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC divisional round. Stroud has a clear choice for who he wants to see hoist the Lombardi Trophy after Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans next month.

The Houston Texans made a big change to their coaching staff on Friday. They parted ways with offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik after two seasons. The offense had been up-and-down during his tenure and even though the Texans won two playoff games these last two years,

C.J. Stroud’s stellar rookie season set a high bar for first-year quarterbacks to clear, but the Texans signal-caller told the Houston Chronicle earlier this week that Daniels has had “the best rookie season of all time”. “Records are meant to be broken,” he added.

But after Stroud took a step back in Year 2, and after the Texans’ offense as a whole took a glaring turn, Slowik was fired from his offensive coordinator position on Friday by Houston, according to multiple reports, less than a week after the season ended — again — in the second weekend of the NFL playoffs.

Whomever Texans coach DeMeco Ryans hires to fill his vacant offensive coordinator role, it won't matter unless he also fixes his O-line.

It’s best not to assume that C.J. Stroud will be headed down to Orlando with the rest of the Houston Texans this week.
