A new state law mandated officers return to Milwaukee Public Schools by January of last year. The district and the city have pointed fingers at each other over the delay, but now the clock is ticking, with a court order to comply with the law within the next three weeks.

Milwaukee police arrested three teens after a police chase tied to a robbery ended with a crash on Friday afternoon, Jan. 24.

Milwaukee Public Schools have been out of compliance with a state law requiring them to have 25 officers in schools.

Authorities in Milwaukee say two suspects are now criminally charged in connection to a homicide with police arresting one of the suspects and still searching for the other. According to a release from the Milwaukee Police Department,

Public Schools has been required to implement a 25-officer school resource officer program. It's not the first time the district has used that type of program.
