The New York Jets interviewed Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores on Friday for their head coach vacancy. Flores is the 13th coaching candidate to meet with the Jets, who are also expected to speak to Vikings quarterbacks coach Josh McCown and Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.

“There’s a lot of buzz going around league circles right now regarding a Ryan Grigson (general manager), Brian Flores (head coach), and Josh McCown (offensive coordinator) pairing,” Hughes wrote, via SNY. “A source in Minnesota actually said that’s been talked about within their building.”

Brian Flores interviewed for the Jets’ head-coaching position on Friday and could be a strong candidate for the job. The former Dolphins head coach has more than 20 years of NFL experience. He has been Minnesota’s defensive coordinator since 2023 and employs a blitz-heavy scheme.

The trio increased the list to 15 coaching candidates to meet with the Jets, who have also conducted 15 interviews for their general manager job.
