The series will be co-directed by Lee Hae-jun and Kim Byung-seo, the filmmaking team behind Ashfall, Castaway on the Moon, and Like a Virgin. Netflix says the production will feature a world-class global VFX team to bring the story's high-stakes fantasy and action set-pieces to life.

Hunters are graded by their innate abilities and thus are stuck in their ranks for life. Or so they thought. The story centers on Sung Jinwoo, who is described as a “weak" E-rank hunter at the beginning of the story, but who climbs his way up the ranks after gaining extraordinary powers following a near-death experience.

Solo Leveling live-action has officially in production, and Netflix recently announced that Byeon Woo-seok will take on the lead role.
