After weeks of rumours Hatsune Miku has finally, officially been revealed as the next musical Icon to headline the Fortnite Festival. Hatsune Miku joins many real artists that have shared this honour such as The Weeknd, Billie Eilish and most recently Snoop Dogg.

Epic Games has finally unveiled Fortnite’s long-rumoured crossover with musical icon Hatsune Miku. The popular Vocaloid character and musical artist will headline Fortnite Festival Season 7 when it launches this week, bringing lots of Miku-themed cosmetics and new music to the game.

Introducing new features and crossovers in all of the different game modes, Fortnite update 33.20 has a January 14 release date and a 9am GMT UK launch time. Of course, you won't actually be able to sample any of the new additions until after a period of server downtime, which runs from 9am until around 11am.

Fortnite servers will go down at 9am GMT / 4am EST / 1am PST today, Tuesday, January 14, as confirmed by a tweet from the @FortniteStatus Twitter account. And as always, matchmaking will be disabled around 30 minutes beforehand, so you might be unable to get into a game from around 8.30am GMT / 3.30am EST / 12.30am PST.
