President Donald Trump on Monday pardoned more than 1,000 people charged in the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol, and commuted the sentences of leaders of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers.

Kirstyn Niemela served eight months in a federal prison for entering the US Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot. “I lost friends and family, and I haven’t been able to find a job,” she told the Globe.

Jackson Reffitt, who reported his father to the FBI over his involvement in the Capitol riot, said he's "terrified" by Trump's pardons.
