Ellis, a 31-year-old day trader from New Jersey, competed on season 21 of "The Bachelorette" with lead Jenn Tran, who ultimately chose Devin Strader during the final rose ceremony. Now, he's back on another quest for true love, becoming the second Black male lead in the franchise's history.

While there are no guaranteed happily ever afters in Bachelor Nation, Ellis has a better shot at love than many of his predecessors simply because all of his pursuers signed up to pursue him specifically. Season 29 of “The Bachelor” premieres on ABC on Monday, Jan. 27, at 8 p.m. EST.
