The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has completed critical track work on the Orange Line, lifting nine speed restrictions.

A service suspension last month allowed for unencumbered access to track areas, and crews were able to lift nine speed restrictions.

The MBTA's campaign to eliminate speed restrictions is “a commitment to not only rebuilding our infrastructure today, but making sure that we maintain that system,” General Manager Phil Eng said. The post Orange Line now without slow zones for the first time in 15 years,
