AMD's RDNA 4 GPU fiasco has already seen pulled presentations and mysterious delays, and a new March launch date just announced points to the company waiting to see what NVIDIA does with its RTX 5070/Ti cards.

The Radeon RX 9070 Series, the first GPUs from AMD to leverage its new RDNA 4 architecture, haven't been released yet because they are too expensive relative to the competition, according to new speculation brewed by a forum post from a PCGH insider who claims that the Radeon RX 9070 and Radeon RX 9070 XT have been delayed for reasons that include "unclear marketing funds" and trouble between AMD and its retail partners.

AMD's Corporate Vice President and General Manager, David McAfee, tweeted on Tuesday that Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD, Financial) has pushed back its retail launch period for its RDNA 4-based graphics cards to March 2025.

AMD's upcoming RX 9070 series GPUs are slated to officially arrive in March with a wide assortment of cards being made available at launch.

CES 2025 set up an old-fashioned graphics card battle between Nvidia and AMD, even if the latter showed up a little late. We know when the new RTX 50 series GPUs will debut (at the end of January) and we now know when AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT cards will hit store shelves: March.

AMD announced its next-generation graphics cards, the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, at CES 2025, but curiously, neither of the two RDNA 4 graphics cards was present during AMD’s keynote, despite vendors showing off their new cards on the show floor with redacted specifications.
