BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Baton Rouge police are going into the new year investigating two deadly shootings and a stabbing.

One person was killed in a shooting in the 5400 block of Longfellow Drive in Baton Rouge on Wednesday afternoon, a police spokesperson said. Terry Wayne Jones, 35, was shot multiple times around 3:24 p.m. and died at the scene, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

According to the police, around 3:20 p.m., detectives were responding to a reported shooting in the 5400 block of Longfellow Drive. Upon arrival, detectives found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. The man was later identified as Terry Wayne Jones, 35.

For one of those shootings, which took place on Bourbon Street around 7:22 p.m., NOPD is now searching for six suspects believed to be from Baton Rouge.

Officers were dispatched to the area after an argument between Jackson and two women led to shots being fired.

According to the police, officers responded to the 1110 block of N. 36th Street and learned an adult male victim had been sent to the hospital in critical condition around 7 p.m.
