President Donald Trump got his wish, signing the much-debated "Big, Beautiful Bill" on July 4. The spending bill passed the House of Representatives on July 3 by a vote of 218-214.

U.S. Representative Marc Veasey, D-Fort Worth, said, "Republicans are putting the needs of Trump in front of their own constituents. This is going to be something I believe that we're going to dig ourselves from underneath for a long time to come."

Texas Republicans were divided but ultimately pivotal in helping President Donald Trump’s "Big Beautiful" Bill clear the U.S. House on Thursday. The bill passed in a narrow 218–214 vote, and despite vocal criticism from within the Texas GOP delegation, all 25 Texas Republican representatives—and both senators—voted in favor.
