There’s a musical summer camp that really rocks. It’s called “Girls Rock Vegas.” Even if they’ve never picked up an instrument, these young women don’t skip a beat when they learn how play the drums.

Hero Texas camp director Richard “Dick” Eastland battled floods for decades and even saw his pregnant wife once airlifted off the grounds to a hospital because of a deluge.

Camp Mystic has deep roots with Texas politicians, including former first lady Laura Bush, who worked as a counselor there, and former President Lyndon B. Johnson, who sent his daughters there.

Fairfield Township firefighters rescued two camp attendees on Wednesday. (Fairfield Township Fire Dept.) It was no easy rescue. They had to bring in 35 foot ladders and a rope system from several emergency departments to get up a 50-foot embankment to a railroad line. Both campers were able to taken to the hospital to be treated.
