In the latest instalment of it's Trophy Tracker series, NHL.com has release the result of a polling of 16 of its journalists today concerning the Calder Trophy race. It was a tight affair but Montreal Canadiens rookie blueliner Lane Hutson is edging the competition three quarters of the way into the season.

The last time a member of the Canadiens won the Calder Trophy, it was Ken Dryden in 1972. We will remember that the year before, he had won the Stanley Cup. You know, the time when the CH won the Cup?

Lane Hutson continues to defy the odds as a rookie defenseman with the Montreal Canadiens. Despite playing arguably the most unforgiving position in the NHL in one of the biggest
